New Haven, Connecticut, rapper Alè the Man, is a leading figure in Connecticut's Dum Out scene and flaunts his incredible versatility on his latest track, "I'm Sorry". In the video for the track, Alè emerges in an almost post-apocalyptic scene. With muted percussions and acoustic guitars, Alè reveals a softer side—he croons, “Mama said I’ll never replace you / I been lookin’, I been searchin’, to this day it’s still true.”

Tottenham born rapper Abra Cadabra is ramping things up in 2020: the UK drill rapper just dropped his third music video in the past two months. It's been two weeks since its release, and “On Deck” has already amassed a remarkable 2.6 million views on YouTube. The track, produced by Rxckson and RA$H, features the definitive sliding bass and the ominous siren-like effects of UK drill. This is arguably his best track to date, and on it, Abra Cadabra’s cavernous baritone voice and impeccable flow mark his name as one to remember.

After a series of successful mixtapes, Shoreline Mafia signed a deal with Atlantic to release their first official album, Mafia Business. This project is simultaneously a debut and a farewell--their first major-label project but their last collaboration as a group, as Fenix Flexin announced in April of this year that he’d be parting ways with Shoreline Mafia after the release of Mafia Business. The group said their goodbyes with a star-studded cast by their side, featuring cameos from Future, Kodak Black, Lil Yachty, Wiz Khalifa, 03 Greedo, Drakeo the Ruler, and many others.

Just two weeks ago, London based singer-songwriter Lianne La Havas released her self-entitled album and first project since 2015. With refreshing honesty and vulnerability, she sets out to tell the story of a painful brake-up and all the inevitable messiness—and ultimately, growth—that comes from untangling your own life from someone else’s.

On “Bittersweet,” Lianne La Havas expands beautifully on a guitar riff borrowed from Isaac Hayes’ “Ike’s Rap Part III/Your Love is So Doggone Good,” building momentum as she goes. In a Genius interview, she begins to unpack the feeling behind the pre-chorus: “You notice when your light is diminishing, which is the sun going down, so you have to, basically, do something about it. And it’s not always easy to know what to do about it, but you have to follow your gut instinct, I think.”

Zaia’s latest project, a 9-song EP titled VERY ALONE, is his longest to date. As hinted by the title, the Atlanta native settles into an intimate exploration of the true isolation of his inner self.

With stripped-down production centered around a funk-reminiscent bass synthesizer loop, Zaia shows off his knack for melody on “JUMO.” This track also invites a guest verse from G.O.O.D. Music's Valee—the only feature on the entire project.
