It's no secret that Ricky Ross the Boss is proudly from Miami Dade County, FL, and it is something he has paid homage to his entire career. So can you imagine what it would look like if the Rosé sipping, Wingstop King, Port of Miami's own created a unique bud strain of his own? The result is "Collins Ave" by Cookies. The rapper turned cannabis mogul and founder of Cookies dispensary out in LA, Berner, teamed up with Ross this summer to create a collection of three strains that perfectly represent his image and the lasting impact his music and brand has had on Miami. The titular Indica-dominant hybrid (65% Indica, 35% Sativa) "Collins Ave" is the outcome of cross breeding Kush Mints 11 and Green Thumb Industries (GTI) strain of Blue Dream. Ranging from 15-25% THC this bud is sure to get you stuck in a matter of minutes 😴 A perfect strain for winding down and relaxing, but also for anyone trying to dive into some late-night munchies.
Growth/Appearance

Not much is known about the actual grow time and yield for Collins Ave since it was a one time collection, but the appearance is definitely eye-catching. The actual buds are small-medium in size and have a menacing dark green-teal hue warning all consumers that you are about to be on your ass after smoking this vibrant strain. Combined with frosty white trichomes that are reminiscent of the sandy Miami Beach that borders the actual Collins Ave and sherbert orange pistils that are synonymous with the general hue of the sunshine state, this is the perfect representation of beaches in Florida in bud form.
Flavor/Smell
The smell of Collins Ave is definitely one of a kind. With a mostly citrus flavor profile, there are notes of sweet and creamy mint that are sure to get you intoxicated before you even spark up. The flavor is very similar to a berry/citrus taste initially followed by menthol-like undertones to create a cooling after taste. Think Orange Creamsicle x Mint Chocolate Chip ice cream.
Benefits
Full disclaimer this bud is not for the average indulger. Being an Indica-dominant strain, the effects of this bud are meant to keep you calm and relaxed, but most importantly glued to the couch/bed. However since it is a hybrid, the bud will leave you in a very euphoric and giddy mood that is sure to brighten any bad day. I recommend this for anyone who wants to unwind after a stressful day of work and ZOOM meetings as it is very helpful when dealing with anxiety and stress as well as depression. You may not be able to speak words from the nonstop laughing and euphoria associated with the strain.
Additionally, "Collins Ave" has been proven to cure appetite loss and nausea based on many reviews and personal experience😅. The speed in which I consumed my family size bag of Haribo Gummy Bears after smoking is alarming, but a good sign of how effective the bud is in curing any hunger issues you may have. Since Cookies is based in California it is hard to get your hands on "Collins Ave" in the East Coast, but if you ever are making a trip to Melrose this is a must-try for any fellow bud enthusiasts.
